Jackman's personality and excellence as a choir trainer shone through his interpretations. (He) produced glowing performances.

Your singing and conducting seem to be made by your whole body and heart
Your humour stops us from getting too tired
It's been such a pleasure to have you with us
National Choral Symposium of Taipei
Thanks for the lesson the other day. Frankly and briefly, it was one of the very best experiences I have had in my adult life.
Neville Young
He is the most wholly professional choral conductor I know, and fun with it. It is always a pleasure to sing for him.

Your
marvellous work in Umbria absolutely made the week for us. I've sung
under dozens of choral conductors, and I can't think of one who has
your combination of sensitivity to music and words together with the
forensic skills to work out what needs putting right, AND to do so with
good humour and in a way that keeps everyone interested.

Jackman
is well known for his compositions and arrangements for the King's
Singers, with which he sang for ten years. His four service settings
are each based on a different chant. Each is a fauxbourdon setting in
which the chant is used alternately with composed sections of choral
counterpoint (with the chant in one of the lower parts). The music of
these choral sections ranges from formal counterpoint in a
sixteenth-century manner to styles reminiscent of Howells and Bruckner.
These stylistic changes provide variety while the chant unifies the
music.
I particularly recommend these settings to those choirs that are used
to performing sixteenth-century fauxbourdon. Such familiarity will
enable you to appreciate the way in which Jackman applies the archaic
techniques within a range of musical styles.

you gave us
a wonderful day yesterday! All those hints and the way you made us feel
one unit, everything was brilliant and fun. We felt that you managed to
establish contact with every single singer and I will never forget how
you 'oozed' music when we sang the Carissimi for the last time. It was
an unforgettable moment
